Ashington Central Corps

Ashington Central Corps is The Salvation Army's church in the town of Ashington, Northumberland. The corps has a long and proud history of Christian work and worship in the town and continues this tradition in the twenty-first century. The worship and community hall is on Second Avenue and provides a home for many weekly activities.

Corps Officer

The current corps officer is Captain Heather Alston. The Captain has been the minister at Ashington since July 2007 and leads the corps in the various activities that occur. In addition to her Sunday ministry, the Captain has a strong background in social services work and so is guiding the corps in meeting the needs of the local community.


Weekly Activities

Sunday:

10.30am - Morning Worship and Children's Church 5.30pm - Evening Worship

Monday:

9.30am to 11.15am - Top Tots 12.30pm to 2.15pm - Top Tots 2.30pm to 3.30pm - Ladies' Fellowship

Tuesday:

6.30pm to 7.30pm - 7up Club for 7 to 11 year olds

Wednesday:

7.30pm - Songster Practice

Thursday:

2.00pm to 4.00pm - Cameo Club with short mat bowling

Friday:

7.00pm to 9.00pm - The Zone Youth Club

Saturday:

10.00am - Coffee Morning
