About The Band

The Auckland Fellowship Brass is based in Auckland, New Zealand and is comprised of members from various corps around the Auckland region. The band members range in age from 20 to well into senior citizenship.

The band was initiated in 1999 by the Divisional Commander of the day, Major Howard Davies, and operates under the auspices of the Northern Divisional Headquarters.

The band's aim and purpose is to first attract people's attention and then to tell them the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ through the spoken word, vocal and brass music.

The band rehearses twice a month and has a regular monthly outreach to corps, other churches, senior citizens villages, rest homes and hospitals. It plays a significant civil role within Auckland City, including participation in the annual ANZAC day war memorial services. The band also, annually, has one weekend visit to another region within New Zealand.

The band's regulations state that corps activities will take precedence over band functions and that no more than one weekend visit will be undertaken in one year. This helps to minimise impact on regular corps activities.
