A Red Shield hostel and corps was operated in the port city of Port Said from 1936 to 1949.

The address of the hall was 25 Rue Sultan Hussein, Leheta Building, Port Said.

The 1938 Year Book says this about the work in Egypt:

Begun in May 1936, the Army's work in Port Said, despite many restrictions, has been of blessing to persons of many nations calling at this busy port, as well as to residents - Egyptians and Europeans. Our little Hostel is much appreciated.

Meetings have been conducted regularly, with local inhabitants and numerous visitors attending. In face of great persecution a good number have decided for Christ.

Copies of the War Cry in various languages have been distributed to passengers and crews of boats passing through Port Said, and many Army books have been circulated. This, and visitation of sick and disabled seamen, taken ashore from ships and generally without a friend, has afforded our Officers excellent opportunities for spiritual influence.
