French Guiana
From Sawiki
The Salvation Army commenced operations in French Guiana in 1933 in the Devil’s Island penal colony. When the penal colony closed in 1952, partially as a result of pressure from the Salvation Army, the Army ceased its work.
The work recommenced in 1980.
French Guiana (French: Guyane française, officially Guyane) is an overseas department of France.
