Rolf Roos

Commissioner Rolf Roos, born November 13, 1940 is a Swedish Salvation army officer who came out of Uppsala in 1962.
After marrying lieutenant Maivor Ljunggren in 1965 he served as commanding officer (corps leader) in Edsbyn (1965-66), Kramfors (1966-67), Örebro II (1967-69), at Östra Kåren (East corps) in Göteborg (1969-1973) and at Stockholm III (1973-75). After five years as divisional youth secretary in Göteborgs division, he was appointed assistant national youth secretary in Sweden 1980. Two years later, he took command over the national youth departement as national youth secretary. In 1986 he was appointed editor in chief for Stridsropet (The War Cry) and literature secretary. After a few years as head of the officers school in Stockholm, he was appointed field secretary and at the same time promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in 1992.
In 1996 he was appointed territorial commander (TC) of the Salvation Army in Finland and at the same time promoted to the rank of colonel. Three year later he returned to Sweden as TC with the rank of commissioner.
In 2004 commissioner Roos left the leadership for Sweden and offered to serve as travelling evangelist for the Salvation Army in Sweden. He retired in 2007 after 45 years of active service.
