The rescue of alcoholics has always been an important part of The Salvation Army's work. Rosie Banister was a notorious drunkard from the Lancashire town of Burnley. She joined The Salvation Army following her 75th appearance before the local Magistrates. After her conversion Rosie settled into respectable married life with a local mill owner
